Pryor Marking Technology
About the Role
The candidate will be trained to undertake the same responsibilities as machine operatives at Pryor Marking Technology, and they will contribute to a high-quality product within the company. This includes working to tight deadlines.
Role & responsibilities:
- Work (under supervision) with mentors, to provide competency in all aspects of machining techniques
- Undertake training to obtain recognised qualifications, including completing assignments on time, and attending all AMRC sessions/tutorials.
- Uphold standards within the company by adhering to all policies and procedures
- Strive to safeguard others by working to the organisation’s Health & Safety Code of Conduct
Team Work
- Contribute towards an effective and supportive team environment
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure the highest standards of products are achieved
General
- Contribute to high standards of cleanliness in the working area
- To undertake such other duties and responsibilities of an equivalent nature, as may be determined by the candidate's supervisor from time to time
- To respect the confidentiality of information received
- To be aware of all emergency and fire evacuation procedures
- To be aware of sections 7 & 8 of the Health and Safety at Work Act (1974)
- To understand that, as part of training, you will be required to move to other parts of the company
Completion of the University of Sheffield’s AMRC Training Centre apprenticeships are nationally recognised qualifications which are acknowledged and respected by employers across the world. These can open the door to many more opportunities, such as Engineering Management and Project Engineering positions across a range of sectors worldwide.
About the Training
You will study on a Level 3 Machining Technician pathway. On completion of this, you will gain a qualification in Engineering at Level 3 standard.
During the first year of the apprenticeship, your learning will take place at the University of Sheffield’s AMRC Training Centre based at Catcliffe, Rotherham, for an initial block of study on a full-time basis. After this, you will attend the Training Centre for one day a week for knowledge study.
