About the Role
A start up career opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated individual looking to enter the motor vehicle body and paint repair industry. Specialising in a wide variety of transport, from commercial through to motorcycles you will work within modern, fully equipped workshops, using the latest technology.
The apprentice Paint Refinisher to train/work alongside existing skilled staff in the Paint department reporting to the workshop controller or depot manager daily.
In addition to training and assisting in the paint department you will carry out general housekeeping duties.
You will mainly work with a chosen mentor in the paint department with duties to include:
- Preparation - stripping, sanding and masking
- Etching and priming areas to be treated
- Colour matching and mixing
- Paint application techniques including spray booth technology
- Buffing and polishing methods
- Paint defect corrections
The possibility of a full-time role.
About the Training
Vehicle Damage Paint Technician Level 3 Apprentice Standard.
End Point Assessment:
- Knowledge Test (90-mins)
- Professional Discussion (45-mins)
- Practical Skills Test (11-hours over 2 consecutive days)
Attend Sheffield College - Olive Grove Campus 1 day per week in term time.
