About the Role

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Wood Machinist Apprentice to join our woodworking and manufacturing team. You will learn how to set up, operate, and maintain woodworking machinery. Under the supervision of experienced machinists, you will gain hands-on experience in shaping, cutting, edging and finishing wood and materials.

  • Assist in setting up and operating woodworking machines such as saws, routers, sanders, and CNC wood machinery
  • Learn to read and interpret technical drawings, cutting lists, and production plans
  • Measure, mark, and inspect materials to ensure accuracy and quality of finished products
  • Support the preparation, assembly, and finishing of wood components
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and safe workshop environment in line with company safety procedures
  • Learn how to maintain and perform basic troubleshooting on woodworking machines and tools
  • Follow instructions from senior machinists and supervisors to meet production targets
  • Assist in monitoring material usage, waste reduction, and process improvements
  • Assist in the continuous improvement of the operations through Lean Manufacturing concepts
•Genuine interest in woodworking, furniture making, or manufacturing •Basic understanding of hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments •Strong attention to detail and quality craftsmanship •Good mathematical and problem-solving skills. •Willingness to learn new techniques and follow safety standards •Physical ability to handle wood materials and stand for long periods
  • Career progression into skilled machinist or production technician roles

About the Training

  • The apprentice will train in the workplace with regular team calls with the training provider to cover off-course work and complete modules
  • The apprentice will have a face to face visit in the workplace once per calander month with the trainer
