About the Role

Supporting the operations of a modern manufacturing facility, the role will include applying your technical skills to overcome problems. Finding solutions to make the production of pre-cast elements more efficient. This will involve managing projects and initiatives to support manufacturing operations.

Key deliverables and responsibilities:

  • Learn how to turn technical ideas and requirements into real engineering designs and manufacturing solutions
  • Support problem-solving activities to identify faults and help implement effective fixes
  • Read and create technical documents such as drawings, CAD models, and engineering reports
  • Collect and analyse data to help make accurate engineering decisions
  • Assist with planning and delivering projects while considering safety, quality, cost, and sustainability
  • Follow health, safety, environmental, and quality standards within a manufacturing environment
  • Gain hands-on experience using manufacturing processes, tools, and technologies
  • Carry out equipment checks, help resolve faults, and support quality assurance activities
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives using methods such as Lean and Six Sigma
  • Work closely with colleagues and stakeholders while developing your skills, knowledge, and professional behaviours

There will be an online university entrance test with Sheffield University (AMRC training centre) as part of the recruitment process.  

On completion of the apprenticeship, you will remain in the business and progress in your career.

Manufacturing Engineer (degree) Level 6.

About the Employer

The Trade and Technical Apprenticeship programme provides you with a formal college education, leading to a Level 2 and/or 3 apprenticeship standards in your chosen vocation. You will also gain a broad set of trade technical skills through on-the-job training, supported by our qualified and experienced workforce, and construction professionals. A dedicated mentor and approved training provider will work closely with you, providing regular feedback on your progress towards completing your apprenticeship.
