About the Role

As an apprentice, you'll play a vital role in our daily operations and the development of our gymnasts. Planning, leading and coaching physical activities for people of all ages in the community

  • Coaching and Training: If you already hold a British Gymnastics Level 1 qualification, you'll start coaching. If not, you'll receive comprehensive training to achieve this qualification, learning how to lead engaging and effective gymnastics sessions.
  • Athlete Support: You'll work closely with experienced coaches, supporting gymnasts during warm-ups, helping them refine their techniques, and providing essential spotting and assistance as they learn new skills.
  • Session Preparation: You'll be instrumental in setting up and tidying away equipment for classes, ensuring a safe and organized training environment.
  • Developing Your Skills: Under supervision, you'll gain hands-on experience in planning and developing your own coaching sessions, fostering creativity and confidence in your coaching abilities.
Please note that this role requires an enhanced DBS check, and you will be required to undertake safeguarding training and first aid certification.

●       Advance Your Coaching: Progress to become a British Gymnastics Level 2 or Level 3 coach in various disciplines (e.g., tumbling, artistic gymnastics, TeamGym).

●       Increase Your Hours: Expand your working hours as you gain experience and qualifications.

●       Expand Your Reach: Work in outreach programs such as school sessions and holiday clubs, and have the opportunity to accompany gymnasts to competitions.

●       Become a Judge: There's also the exciting prospect of becoming a paid gymnastics judge for the club.

About the Training

  • 100% in the workplace, with Assessor visit to the gym and arrange online tutorials
