About the Role
We are looking for a hardworking, committed and enthusiastic apprentice to join our vibrant and friendly team. You will work within our Production Office and will be supported through your qualification with real experience to complement your learning.
This is a varied office-based role where you will gain practical experience across several different areas of the business.
Working alongside the existing office team, you will help with the day-to-day administration of the factory and develop an understanding of how customer orders progress from initial enquiry through to production, delivery and completion.
The role will involve regular use of Microsoft Excel and other office systems, as well as communicating with customers, suppliers, drivers and colleagues across the business. You will also have the opportunity to learn more about the construction and manufacturing industries and how health and safety plays an important role within a busy factory environment.
Above all, we are looking for someone who is reliable, enthusiastic and willing to learn. We are looking for someone who wants to develop their skills, take an interest in the business and become a valued member of the team.
Key Responsibilities
Your duties will develop as your knowledge and confidence grow, but are likely to include:
- General day-to-day office administration and filing
- Maintaining accurate records and documentation
- Using Microsoft Excel to help plan and schedule production and workloads
- Assisting with the planning and organisation of work within the factory
- Helping to manage goods in, including recording incoming materials and deliveries
- Assisting with transport and logistics planning
- Communicating with customers by telephone and email
- Taking and passing on customer enquiries and messages
- Liaising with drivers, suppliers, customers and production staff
- Updating internal systems and keeping information accurate and up-to-date
- Preparing paperwork and documentation relating to orders and deliveries
- Assisting with the organisation and tracking of customer orders
- Supporting the office team with general administrative tasks
- Learning how our manufacturing and production processes operate
- Developing an understanding of the construction industry and the products we manufacture
- Taking an active interest in health and safety, both within the office and wider factory environment
- Following company procedures and maintaining a professional and organised approach to work
You must be able to travel to and from work and college.
The role is primarily office-based within our factory facility on Bentley Road, Doncaster.
As the office is closely connected to the manufacturing operation, the successful candidate will be expected to understand and follow all relevant health and safety procedures and take an interest in how the office and factory work together.
Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that's part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).
You will undertake Functional Skills for English and/or maths as 4’s and above will be a requirement for your apprentice progression.

About the Training
Training will be at Doncaster College where you will access a wide range of facilities on offer.
Day release
You will undertake the Level 2 Administration Assistant standard.
You will undertake Functional Skills for English and/or Maths if needed as the equivalent to 4’s and above will be required for apprenticeship progression.
You will undertake both on and off-the-job training by a team of industry qualified professionals to give you the best skills, knowledge and experience that will help you become a Production Office Administrator of the future.
