  • Setting out, levelling and surveying a construction site
  • Working with site plans, drawings and building information models
  • Mapping structural boundaries on the ground using pegs and markers
  • Liaising with designers and engineers to ensure plans and drawings are accurate
  • Overseeing quality control
  • Monitoring health and safety
  • Keeping a site diary
  • Resolving technical problems

Previous experience of working on a construction site is essential, and previous experience in Civil/Site Engineering is extremely desirable.

This vacancy will be based between Sheffield, Huddersfield, Birkenshaw and possibly Doncaster, so a full UK License and access to a vehicle is essential.

Civil engineering technicians give technical support to engineers on construction projects. They tend to specialise in one area of civil engineering, such as design, planning or logistics and may be involved in projects ranging from building bridges, to widening roads, or creating new infrastructure.

About the Training

The successful applicant will work towards a Level 4 Senior Civil Engineering Qualification, which will take 24 months plus 6 months EPA (End Point Assessment) and will be through Leeds College of Building.
