About the Role
- We are seeking to appoint a passionate and dedicated apprentice , whose commitment & ethos align with our own.

- You will be assigned a Mentor and be supported on the apprenticeship.
- As an Apprentice Teaching and Learning Assistant at Creswell Junior School, you will play a key role in supporting pupils’ learning across the school day.
- You will work alongside experienced teachers and teaching and learning assistants to help deliver engaging lessons, prepare learning resources, and provide individual or small‑group support to pupils who may need extra guidance.
- Your day may include helping to settle children into their morning routines, encouraging their participation in class activities, and supporting positive behaviour and well-being within the classroom.
- Throughout the day, you will assist in a variety of learning environments, from core subjects to creative and practical activities.
- You will help supervise break and lunchtime periods, contribute to assessing pupils’ progress and support children with additional needs under the guidance of the class teacher and SENDCO.
- As you develop confidence and skills, you will take on increasing responsibility, always working as part of a supportive team committed to helping every child thrive.
In line with the school’s Safeguarding requirements, the successful candidate will require an enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check.
Successful completion of the apprenticeship will lead to consideration for any roles that are available within the school at the time.
About the Training
The Apprenticeship Scheme is run in conjunction with a training provider to ensure that you are supported by a first-class training programme. You will attend a class or workshop once a week - either
face to face or online - from one of our Adult Education Centres, located across the county, which will enable you to achieve the following qualifications:
- Teaching Assistant apprenticeship Level 3.
- Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours to enable you to enter the gateway for the End Point Assessment.
- Functional Skills at Level 2, English, maths, if required.
