About the Role
<p>You’ll gain hands-on experience working alongside skilled electrical engineers. All our electrical equipment from– electrical distribution systems from panel boards, switchboards, to cable management, primarily within low voltage ranges. All the time, developing essential electrical and safety skills.</p>
Your day as an apprentice:
As an Aggreko apprentice, no two days are the same. Each day begins with a team briefing focused on safety and priorities. You’ll then work closely with a senior engineer on a wide range of tasks – from equipment preparation and installation to servicing and fault diagnosis. Throughout, you’ll build practical skills with hands-on support and guidance, always working safely to keep everyone safe.
What you’ll learn and do
- Assist cable team with cable colour identification and hand tool usage / Learn and apply product-specific codes for electrical items
- Work on low voltage electrical distribution including distribution boards, panels, switchboards, and cable management, understanding input/output and progressing towards electrical testing of equipment and systems.
- Develop your knowledge and confidence using a range of hand tools
- Work safely to keep everyone safe
- Collaborate with teams to deliver excellent service and contribute to key projects
- Use IT tools like laptops and mobile devices to support your work
- Balance practical work experience with college study towards a Level 3 Engineering Maintenance Technician qualification

About the Training
You will follow a four-year apprenticeship programme completing an Engineering Maintenance Technician Level 3 qualification. College training will be delivered 1-2 days per week.
