About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity for an Operational Leader Apprentice to join our Hub Operations Team in September 2026. Our Apprenticeship scheme is designed to develop our future people leaders by giving you hands on exposure to the operations and real responsibility from day one.
You will manage operational processes, drive performance through Key Performance Indicators and develop your people management/leadership skills. You’ll join a busy Hub Operations team who will support you throughout with structured training and invaluable industry experience in a fast paced, cost focused multi-cultural environment. During your time on the programme, you will complete a Supply Chain Leadership Level 6 Apprenticeship to develop your knowledge and skills.

- You’ll help run operational shifts and promote best practices to improve performance
- You’ll understand and manage budgets to help achieve operational targets
- You’ll support and motivate teams through coaching and engagement
- You’ll assist with shift planning and rota management to maximise productivity
- You’ll use data to spot trends and identify ways to improve cost, service, and quality
- You’ll help ensure quality, service, safety, and security standards are always met
- You’ll maintain a visible presence on the shop floor, providing guidance and ensuring best practices are followed
- You’ll support continuous improvement projects and help implement operational changes
- You’ll build strong relationships across teams and at all levels
- You’ll receive mentoring and join a network of emerging talent through our EVRi Emerging Talent Development programme
You will need to have a driving licence and access to a car. Regular travel is required.

About the Training
The course gives you the building blocks of learning you need to develop confidence and competence in management practice. You’ll study at Sheffield Hallam University Business School, which has a strong history of collaboration with employers to deliver work-focused education and training. You’ll then put this theory into practice in your job role.
You will learn through:
- Class-based lectures
- Practical workshops
- Discussions
- Tutor-led study
- You will progress through the course following successful completion of assessments, which address the learning outcomes for each module and allow you to complete the course
You will also complete an end-point assessment towards the end of the apprenticeship.
